The final sum from Ring*Con for Charity 2010 was
3164,37€!!!!
We got a letter from Children's Hospice Bärenherz,
that part of the money was donated to:
Dear Ms. Graf, dear RingCon members,
thank you for helping us ease the severe everyday life of families with
terminally ill children. Your donation of 2,058.00 EUR, which we
received on 11.30.2010, is helping to provide qualified hospice for
children and make their families life a little more livable.
For example the S. family, whose two-year-old son Benni was rescued
from drwoning, fell into a coma, and then could neither speak nor move.
Only through his eyes and ears the little boy could communicate.
As with the extensive care of her son his mother soon met her physical
and mental limits, she sought help in the children's hospice. Here,
with professional direction, she became more secure in dealing with
their terminally ill child. The fear that Benni would suddenly stop
breathing decreased, and she took new courage to accept their situation
and strengthened look forward to the remaining time together.
Many families just like Benni and his mother come to the Children's
Hospice Bärenherz. Here they all, parents, siblings, grandparents
and family, get support and comfort in the difficult process of saying
goodbye and letting go. The siblings also look forward to accompanying
activities such as excursions and camps, so they too can feel in the
center of attention from time to time.
Thank you very much for giving a little bit of luck with your donation!
With warmest regards,
Yours
Gabriele Orth (Managing Director)

3/4 of the remaining money will go to

Bärenherz
Foundation for
gravely ill children
It supports facilities, especially children's hospices, which
try easing the burden of families with kids who have incurable diseases
and a short life expectancy.
At present these are the children's hospices in Wiesbaden,
Markkleeberg near
Leipzig and the Kinderhaus Bärenherz in
Heidenrod-Laufenselden, a long-term care facility for gravely
handicapped or ill children, youths and adults. For the existing
institutions, which are only partially state-funded, they currently
distribute 1,8 million euro per year.
„Bärenherz brought some quality of life back to
us…“
a nice conclusion after seven years children's hospice
Bärenherz in Wiesbaden. It is the statement of an affected
mother, who exactly puts in a nutshell what a children's hospice wants
to be: A shelter, which gives warmth and a feeling of security to
families, whose children are life-shorteningly and incurably ill. Here
they find advice, qualified care, tender support,
relief and comfort from the diagnosis until the kid's death and
beyond.
